Thermal Expansion by Density Change

Calculator can be used to estimate maximum amount of sample that can be added to a container based off of estimated thermal expansion.

Need to use two density readings at different temperatures. Higher temp readings tend to have lower density values.

Calculator based on volumetric temperature expansion calculator from engineeringtoolbox.com.

This calculator assumes a linear relationship.

Many substances such as water are not strictly linear as the change in rate of expansion of liquid water at low temperatures is higher than at higher temps .

For best results, the two densities should be taken at as large of a temperature interval as possible.
